Nick Dempsey is no ordinary young man. At just 21 years of age, the Albury born water polo star has represented Australia, won a myriad of MVP’s and has gone on tour with the under 18’s and under 20’s Australian Water polo teams. He has achieved more in his career than most average Australians attain in a lifetime.
In January 2017, Nick’s life took an unexpected turn. He suffered a severe spinal cord injury after diving into his parents swimming pool. After spending eight extensive months in Melbourne with recovery and rehabilitation, Nick returned home in August. With an attitude unlike any other, he has shown the same determination to his new life that he had in his sports. You could say, he is addicted to the process of winning, and more importantly, addicted to the process of getting better.
