Dear Readers,

It has been a huge year! For those who follow me on Facebook or Instagram @bernadette.torresan, you would have witnessed the emotional journey in resting my fathers’ ashes in August, the success of the GO Fashion Show in September and hard work behind the scenes over the two years (yes we are now two years old!) As I sat along the cliffs edge, viewing my fathers’ beloved hometown Crespano Del Grappa in Northern Italy, it hit me… You must love where you live and you must always choose happiness!

I saw the effects of a man who was so tired of living in a place he felt he did not belong, and it pained me to know that only upon his death was he truly free to reside back where his heart was calling. As I walked the streets and mountains with dad in my backpack, I saw the riches and beauties of his home. I understood why he loved this quiet village. It was home. His home. As the church bells echoed and tears streamed down my face, I learnt a lesson about happiness and the importance to strive for just that.

For me, I see myself as fortunate to live in a part of Australia where we have all that is required in the space of a small city (or large country town). Universities, TAFE on both sides of the Border, schooling here is plentiful, as is all the medical services and government agencies. There is a variety of restaurants and different cuisines, shopping and fun activities to do through the summer and it is a place I am happy to call home.

We have easy access to major cities, and the luxury of so many beautiful locations to visit that are an hour or so away, for a country escape. Hiking is my passion. I can walk for hours, days and weeks if I had the time, and in this edition I reveal my
experience walking a week along the Spanish Coastal line and also gathered information (tried and tested) of some local walking tracks. I discovered our very own walking app for Albury City as well! (Definitely download as it reveals the best places and history of our beautifulcity.)

Our Nourish and Travel features have loads of inspiration for places to entertain you over the summer holidays. We interview more inspiring locals such as famed Bob Harris from SS&A, upcoming Artist Marni Korneluk and local singer Imara Buchanan and reveal images of our first GO Fashion Show, which was a sell out and a great opportunity for locals to showcase their talent!

Again, thank you for your support over the year and I hope you take some time out of the craziness to enjoy our read as we reveal more locals whom share their personal stories and glories with us. With love to all for a happy and safe Christmas and New

Many Blessings for a Pura Vida
Bernadette xx
